The Lifepoint story started out with nothing more than a God given vision. This vision was of a new kind of church, one that is vitally linked to its community, one that shows God’s love through acts of kindness and service, and one that would strive to be relevant in today’s culture, yet never stray from the Word of God.
This church would value families, encourage parents, reach out to the hurting and offer hope. It would be a church that brings a message of grace, not guilt, relying on God’s spirit to move in people’s lives. And it would be a church that was to be planted all the way across the country from where Pastor Brad Kochis and his family were happily living at the time.
In 2003, Pastor Brad, his wife, Melissa, and their two small children took a leap of faith and moved from Atlanta, GA, where Pastor Brad was working as a Youth Pastor, to Columbus, Ohio to turn that vision into a reality. In May 2004, the first service was held in their living room with a handful of friends in attendance. But that wouldn’t last for long… We’ve learned that when God gives you a vision, He grants provision!
Later that year, Northwest Evangelical Church donated their building and 8.5 acres of land to Lifepoint Church. At the same time, the Central Ohio District of the Church of the Nazarene also sensed a need to reach out to the Hilliard/Dublin community with a new church in a new way. They believed in and helped fund the dream that has now become Lifepoint Church.
Today, Lifepoint has blossomed into a church where more than 600 people call it their place of worship, but more importantly it is a place where you can come and be yourself, experience God’s grace and strengthen your faith. We hope you will join us as our story continues to unfold.
