What is LPYM?
Lifepoint Youth Ministries for grades 7th through 12th meets from 5:30-7 p.m. on Sunday evenings and on Wednesday evenings from 6:45-8 p.m. for Student Lifegroups. LPYM offers a consistent student worship opportunity as well as purposed events! This is where teenagers can embrace their faith in a way that fuses to their everyday life!
Sunday Nights
Live Worship, Fun Games, Relevant Messages, Real Friendships
What to Expect
This Sunday you’ll hear from our adult ministry partners!
God has an amazing story. We call it “History”; our lives are a part of his-story! Over the next several weeks, leading up to Christmas, we will hear how God’s story in our lives have collided to make beautiful things! You’ll get to know the adults who invest their time and lives in your ministry. Perhaps they’ve gone through some of the struggles you’re currently facing. Maybe you’ll gain a new understanding, and find a new voice that can speak into your life!
That’s our prayer! Developing influences that can help you on your spiritual journey!
Growing Students
Because Spiritual Growth is one of our primary focuses of our ministry, we purposely focus our efforts on developing structures that encourage a connection between student and Jesus, not student and “program.”
How We Do This
Our main ministries include:
H – Hangtime with God (prayer journaling)
A – Accountability partnering (Back 2 Back)
B – Bible Memorization (Hidden Treasures)
I – Involvement in the church body
T – Tithing (Bank of Blessings)
S – Study Scripture (Rootworks)
*All of the HABITS are self paced studies or partnerships that do not have a “time stamp” for completion, but rather encourage specific areas of student’s spiritual journeys that we find worthy of investing special effort in. Students are free to choose at their own pace which of the Habits they’d like to participate in*
Mentoring
Our adult leadership team remembers the challenges of our teenage years, and how important and valuable it was when God would place people in our lives that encouraged us to grow in our faith and even walk with us through our struggles. LPYM’s mentoring program will be two-fold:
Adult-to-student mentoring: an adult ministry partner spending weekly time with students aimed at encouragement, support, prayer, and quality time, and scripture study.
Student-to-Student mentoring: this is where an upperclassman will partner with a younger student. With weekly purposed conversations, e-mails, phone calls, and genuine mentoring, we feel that more students will be encouraged and less students will fall through the cracks of life.
